This is one of the last unaltered Liberty Ships at her permanent berth Pier 3 East, Fort Mason, in Golden Gate National Recreation Area, San Francisco, California.

Jeremiah O'Brien was a Privateer Captain who lived at Machias, Maine, during the American Revolutionary War.

The Radio Room in SS JEREMIAH O'BRIEN that was assigned international call sign KXCH. The radio installation is the RCA model 4U.

Hello Group -

I visited that ship in the 1980's when the xyl and I visited San Francisco. 

Nice ship. We have a WW2 ship in Tampa Florida and I think its a victory ship? Saw that one a few times.

Been retired from the high seas since 1995. Dont miss the bad wx, bad food, or Captains that were nasty

and anti- Radio Officer. I heard that there are less than 200 US flag ships remaining. When I started in 1980 there were over 750.

Things are so bad that MSC has to lay up ships do to a lack of msc govt people.
