Has anyone made a contact?

It's a difficult day for radio here in the States as it's Tax Day. Sylvester DH4PB and the Bremen Seefunkers group (now disbanded) and of course Alfredo De Cristofaro who seems to be the only person in this group involved in MRD.

The Radio Officers Association of the United Kingdom seems to be the only active group still alive.

The California Historic Radio Society which absorbed the Society of Wireless Pioneers http://sowp.org is alive but few if any radio officers are active in it.

Greetings - I searched the bands on and off and cq'd MRD but didn't hear a call for MRD any place. My conditions were not good, very weak sigs from USA and Europe plus a lot of noise. Not a thing heard from VK or ZL.

Operated GB0GKB yesterday afternoon and evening and made nearly 50 contacts - all in EU apart from W1WCC who called me on 15m. Bands busy with MRD stations here on 20m and 40m, but not a great deal on 15m. I don't operate on 80m but would have thought plenty of stations around in the evening.

I will be active during the day today around 21050/14050/7020 kHz as time and conditions permit.

The ROA seem to have done a good job in organising the event, but looking at the registration list there is certainly an advantage in operating from EU, not too many stations from the USA and other parts of the world.

David,

Plenty of activity on MRD yesterday, with good QSOs on 20m and a few on 15m, as well as lots on 40m, mainly European on that band.

I had a goodly number of MRD QSOs yesterday and will be on air again today.  So far it seems to me it’s going to be a better than average year for R/Os.

Yes Dave, made a few contacts during the short time I was on. Bands were quiet...

I heard GM4XXF Bruce but he couldn't hear me. This is the first MRD I made zero contacts.

My antenna is very poor and I'm too blind and weak to troubleshoot why.

Enjoyed MRD this year. Plenty of EU activity but only heard one station from NA. Made 74 contacts in all which is a personal best for me, could have been quite a few more but I was unable to participate on the Monday evening due to a prior engagement. Very happy to contact a few old colleagues and friends during the event too. Roll on MRD 2025!
