Folks,

Next meeting is on Thursday 12th March. Club member John Holden will tell the story of making lightbulbs in the Victorian era.

Some of you may remember John's wonderful talk on arc lamps a little while ago now.

Venue: 2nd Woodley Scout Group, Vauxhall Park, Vauxhall Dr, Woodley, Reading RG5 4EA https://what3words.com/bowls.blame.lace .
Eyes down: 8pm.
No zoom for this one - in person at the scout hut only.

"The talk is in three parts:

1) Early light bulbs before Edison and Swan.

2) Case study of Robertson lamp factory Brooke Green, Hammersmith

3) later filament types, osmium, tantalum and tungsten"

Thank you John!

As ever, refreshments (tea/coffee) will be available as usual with a generous supply of biscuits. Please bring a mug if you wish to partake. You are also welcome to bring along your favourite tipple.
