Hi George,

Very sad news, but thank you for informing us.
A sad loss, Tony was a great character, we will all remember with affection his talks which always were very interesting.

Please pass on our condolences from our club and its members to his friends and family.

Thanks for letting us know George, and for looking after Tony when he visited us.

Sad news indeed. Tony was a constant friend of RADARC and thought nothing of travelling up from Plymouth to give a presentation on military radio and the eastern bloc, as was. As Simon mentioned, he was always a great character which shone through in his presentations. He loved the old eastern bloc and often visited friends out there so had first hand knowledge of life out there which he shared in his presentations giving us a truly unique insight.

The amount of exhibits he would bring to talks was legendary, if I recall correctly in particular in relation to Czech military radios. Almost literally tons of gear, sometimes.

Many will know a lot more about him, but his passion for radio was steadfast. I often ran into him at rallies (memorably flight refuelling down in Wimborne) with tables full of gear. He always very much looked forward to giving us presentations, so much so that when recently he was wanting to drive up from Plymouth and back in a day to talk to us, I had trouble convincing him it might not be in his best interests!

He will be very much missed.

Rest in peace, Tony.
