Release for v6.6 is about to begin

The release process for v6.6 will begin in about a week. If
you have any new features that you want in and are relatively close
to being done, now is a good time to do that.

When's the expected actual release date for v6.6? My computing center is asking so they can plan for fall software installs.

Technically the release is scheduled for 31 July. For the past couple of releases we were basically on time. (I am counting on it too.)
