We're currently stuck on v3.8.9. Whenever I upgrade to v3.8.11 I see this error:

RabbitMQ.Client.Exceptions.BrokerUnreachableException
Authentication failed, see inner exception.

The client and server cannot communicate, because they do not possess a common algorithm.

...and we have no consumers on the queues.

If I roll back to v3.8.9 everything works again.

How do you authenticate it? Do you have SSL? If so what is SSL version?

Our connections are brokered through a load balancer with an L7Tcp Service. There is no option for SSL.

After speaking to our architect I think we've narrowed down the issue to the .NET client 5.x.

Hello,

You haven't provided enough information for us to assist you.

Please provide the following information:
  • Erlang version
  • Operating system used for RabbitMQ and your .NET application
  • .NET Core / Framework version
  • Complete RabbitMQ configuration files
  • Complete RabbitMQ log files
  • Complete .NET exception. A snippet is not sufficient
  • Code that shows exactly how you are connecting to RabbitMQ
Please answer these questions:
  • Can you reproduce the problem when the load balancer is not used?
  • You say "client and server cannot communicate, because they do not possess a common algorithm", which implies that you are using TLS. Yet, you contradict yourself later on. Which is it?
  • What is your exact procedure for upgrading to 3.8.11?
