Hi all,

It is possible to have your application components using a mixture of AMQP and AMQPS on the same RMQ instance?

For example we have several applications using the same RMQ. Some of them have the capability to use AMQPS, but some don’t, is it possible to have all the applications using the same RMQ but on different protocols?

I feel like it defeats the point a little, it either all needs to be secure, but just theoretically, is it possible?

Thanks.

Hi,

Yes, it's possible and in fact, the default. If you enable TLS, the non-TLS listeners remain enabled by default. Just don't disable them and you are good.
And yes, of course that's a bad idea security-wise but better than not using TLS at all.

Best,
