When SSL support was first added to rabbitmq-c, it supported OpenSSL, cyaSSL, GnuTLS, and PolarSSL. Most of the implementations unfortunately were not maintained, and thus were removed in: https://github.com/alanxz/rabbitmq-c/commit/8f17d299778f01052a1fe9acf2cd759e75cd407c. But if you're looking for inspiration, the implementation for these is a good place to start.
