Invoices printing correctly, but labels printing completely blank

Dear QZ Tray Support Team,

I am currently using QZ Printer (QZ Tray) for our printing workflow, and I am encountering an issue with label printing.

While our invoices are being generated and printed perfectly, the labels are generating completely blank (no data or text is rendering on the label).

Here are the specific details of our setup:

• Operating System: Windows 11

• Browser: Chrome

• QZ Tray Version: 2.2.6

• Label Printer Model: Cute PDF

• Format Used: PDF

The code successfully triggers the print job and generates the file via Cute PDF, but the resulting document is entirely blank.

Could you please guide us on how to resolve this PDF rendering issue? If you need to see our print payload or the QZ Tray logs, please let me know and I will provide them immediately.

I agree with Lite, logs would be nice.  You can send them directly to sup...@qz.io if you are concerned about the privacy of the information (this is a public mailing list).

I tested the attached PDF (which appears to be produced by flipkart) and it prints just fine to other PDF writers, maybe the logs will show something that's not obvious from reading the previous email.

Thanks for the logs. Is this your web app? The logs indicate that ZPL is being sent for the label (this is a common label markup language), and not a PDF. This explains the blank page.

If you do not have control over the kind of data being sent, we recommend reaching out to the web developer to offer a data format that can be interpreted by a virtual printer such as Cute PDF.

I'm attaching the actual file that we process... I decoded it from the base64 encoding in the logs.

I'm running some local tests to see what's up and will report my findings...

Thanks for the logs.

Lite discovered that the label is being sent in ZPL format, which is proprietary to Zebra printers or printers that emulate the Zebra Printing Language.  There's no way to print this to Cute PDF, sorry.

You would need to find a virtual printer that accepts ZPL to do this or attempt to switch Flipkart to use another label format.
