Question about printing from a tablet via PC

Hello,

I would like to ask if your application can be used in a scenario where a printer (which is neither wireless nor network-enabled) is connected to a PC via cable, and I want to print labels from a tablet through that PC to the printer?

Hi,

Yes, we do support leveraging the PC as a "Print Server" but the setup can be complicated.

Setting up a print-server is is documented here: https://qz.io/docs/print-server

The toughest part is the HTTPS requirement, which can be circumvented by setting chrome://flags/#unsafely-treat-insecure-origin-as-secure with the IP address of your print-server.

Due to the complexities, we've created a new box to do this all for you called "QZ Surf" (limited beta).

The QZ Surf box has an initial cost as well as a subscription cost but is compatible with websites that leverage QZ Tray with a small change to the way the connect call.
