Hello,
I just installed QuTiP and I am new to python. On running the installation test, I see multiple failed tests marked in red. I have followed the installation instructions carefully. I have checked the various requirements. As I just installed all the associated packages, I think they should naturally meet with the requirements. Python version: 3.6. I have checked my GCC version also (7.5.0). I have attached the list of tests that failed and the error message that came on the screen. Please let me know what I need to do.
Thank you.

Regards.
Sharmila

Hello,

Your version of QuTiP is out-of-date, and incompatible with scipy 1.5. You either need to update QuTiP to 4.5.2, or downgrade scipy to 1.4. If you installed using `conda`, you can run `conda install 'qutip>=4.5.2'` (recommended) or `conda install 'scipy<1.5'` (permissible, but pins you to an old version of scipy). However, the install path for the package doesn't look like a conda-managed path. If you installed from an OS package manager or built from source, I'd recommended uninstalling and using `conda` instead, unless you know what you're doing. If you definitely want to build from source, get a copy of 4.5.2 from GitHub (https://github.com/qutip/qutip/releases/tag/v4.5.2), and replace your current version with that.

Hello Jake,

Thank you for your reply. I will try using conda. I didn't have Conda. So I installed from source using the 4.5.0 version downloaded from the QuTiP site. I will install conda and try using it. Thank you again for your generous help.
Regards.
Sharmila

Hi,

Actually I noticed also yesterday that we need to update the website. A great thing would be to automate most release processes (maybe an idea to add to the distribution project for a 2021 google summer of code project).

Bests,

Nathan
