English Translation of Al-Quran
[11] Surah Hud (PBUH) [Hud]
Ayat 17. Can they (Muslims) who rely on a clear proof (the Qur’an) from their Lord, and whom a witness [Prophet Muhammad [SAWW](PBUH) through Jibrael (Gabriel)] from Him follows it (can they be equal with the disbelievers); and before it, came the Book of Musa PBUH (Moses), a guidance and a mercy, they believe therein, but those of the sects (Jews, Christians and all the other non-Muslim nations) that reject it (the Qur’an), the Fire will be their promised meeting-place. So be not in doubt about it (i.e. those who denied Prophet Muhammad
[SAWW](PBUH) and also denied all that which he brought from Allah, surely, they will enter Hell). Verily, it is the truth from your Lord, but most of the mankind believe not.
Tafseer of Surah Hud (PBUH) Ayat 17. Can they be (like) those who accept a Clear (Sign) from their Lord, and whom a witness from Himself doth teach, as did the Book of Moses PBUH before it,- a guide and a mercy? They believe therein; but those of the Sects that reject it,- the Fire will be their promised meeting-place. Be not then in doubt thereon: for it is the truth from thy Lord: yet many among men do not believe! "A witness from Himself"', i.e., the Book which was given to Al-Mustafa [SAWW](PBUH), the Holy Qur'an, which is compared to the original Revelation given to Moses PBUH. We make no difference between one true and genuine Message and another, nor between one prophet and another—for they all come from the One True God. "Guide": the Arabic word here is Imam, a leader, a guide, one that directs to the true Path. Such a direction is an instance of the Mercy and Goodness of Allah to man. The Qur'an and the Prophet Muhammad
[SAWW](PBUH) are also called, each, a Guide and a Mercy, and so are these epithets applicable to previous Books and Prophets.
Hadith
English Translation of Hadith
Hazrat Aisha (May Allah be pleased with her) said: The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) said, "I do not think that so-and-so understands anything of our Faith.''
[Al-Bukhari Book 08, Chapter 73, Hadith # 93]
Al-Bukhari said: Hazrat Al-Laith bin Saad (May Allah be pleased with him), who is one of the narrators of this Hadith, said: The two men mentioned by the Prophet [SAWW](PBUH) in this Hadith were hypocrites (i.e., they revealed Faith and concealed disbelief).
Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Hud Ayat 17. So be not in doubt about it (i.e. those who denied Prophet Muhammad [SAWW](PBUH) and also denied all that which he brought from Allah, surely, they will enter Hell). Verily, it is the truth from your Lord, but most of the mankind believe not. Hypocrites are also people of mischievous and doubtful conduct. It is, therefore, not only permissible but necessary to make people aware of their real position so that people become cautious about them and their religious and worldly life may remain safe from their machinations.
