Hi

I installed Qubes 4.0.4 on my machine by following these instructions :

- Legacy mode in BIOS
- Secure Boot disabled
- added nouveau.modset=0

Wifi and sound work without any fiddling

I'm so happy... I've had this laptop for 1,5 years and had already tried to install Qubes several times; could it be because of better support of "newer" hardware (i7, 9th generation) in version 4.0.4 ?!

Cheers,
Eddie

Hi Eddie,

Yes absolutely, that's one of the major reasons to have those
point-point releases: make all the updates that happened available in
the install medium.

Technically if you had successfully installed R4.0 just by keeping it
up-to-date you would now have the equivalent of R4.0.4. But sometimes as
it appears in your case it might be hard to get it installed without all
those updates present from the start.

Thank you very much for your HCL report, it is now part of this pull
request:

... and will show on the website soon!

/Sven
