Sound support for hvms other than Windows?

I know currently there is no audio support for the Windows 7 hvm, but I wonder if there is also no support yet for linux hvms. I have recently installed kali linux in Qubes OS 3.2 and found there was no sound. Can anyone deliberate more on the audio support with hvms, thanks?
