Hi,

After a fresh install on this device, I hear no sound from neither speakers nor headphones. Pulse audio volume control (on dom0) has correctly selected the audio card, and blue line indicators, already are showing the sound signals. But I hear no sound of the speakers. The software I use to test the audio is Firefox and VLC from the Fedora 29 template. I also tried the Debian 9 template, and the problem remains.

Also, the microphone input indicators show that the microphone successfully receives the signals.

Hi

After a couple days of failure, I was able to find out the root cause of this problem and resolve it. Using alsa-info.sh script I was able to extract my sound card's subsystem ID as 8086:a348. It turned out that this sound card is not supported by Linux kernel 4.14 (which is used by dom0). So, using qubes-builder repository, I compiled Linux kernel 4.19 from stable-4.19 branch, and after a reboot, everything worked just fine. According to the following links, supporting this card has been added to Linux kernel version 4.17:

After fresh install on my Oryx Pro I had the same problem.

I just enabled test repository on Dom0:
'sudo qubes-dom0-update --enablerepo=qubes-dom0-current-testing'

And after all updates chose in System > Global Settings > Default kernel: choose the last one. Here you can choose 4.19 version.
