thunderbird 68 hanging during sync

It starts and activity manager shows it syncing but numbers either freeze or move super slow.
No difference in safe-mode / addons disabled.
Same on either Template, debian 9 and fedora 30.

It is still 'bringing folders up to data', had .cache/thunderbird deleted but that did not help either.
Also forgot to add the high CPU Usage > 100% in xentop, no matter how many cores the Qube gets assigned, with or without memory balance and i doubt it has something to do with Qubes, just grasping for straws as i cannot find a solution to this.
