Convert template-based VM to standalone?

Say I have a template-based VM, and I want to "fork" it to be standalone so that it's no longer based on the template. I know I could just create a new standalone VM from a template and copy files over from my home directory . . . but is there a way to just convert the existing guest from template-based to standalone? Is there something I could run from the command line?
