Q 3.1 stable release - Screensaver problem in dom0 and KDM after basic install

Hi,

The install went very smoothly with no problems or errors but when the desktop appeared, the screensaver tracked the mouse upwards and downwards like a window blind mixed with thin horizontal lines. On reboot the desktop worked perfectly without this issue but on log out the login screen has a transparent screensaver ghosting over the top. It is possible to log in because the password field has focus but then the desktop has the same mouse-tracking screensaver problem. A restart cures it for the first log in but the subsequent problems remain.

I have been trying to find reports of this with Debian or any other Linux but wonder wheter anyone knows whether it could be a Qubes issue.

It seems this is an issue several people have on fresh 3.1 installs. Maybe the screensaver defaults should be changed to a "safe" configuration?

This fixed it, upgrading to a newer kernel. It was probably because my hardware was very new too:

 
sudo qubes-dom0-update --enablerepo=qubes*unstable kernel
