Hi list

I've been through the archives and found a number of partially helpful suggestions, none of which give me a workable solution. Google also gives me http://nknu.net/mount-nexus5-on-fedora23-using-simple-mtpfs/ which unfortunately doesn't fully work on my Qubes system - I can map the phone device but then mounting with simple-mtpfs inb dom0 gives me a blank directory.

So, having the following two systems:
Qubes R3.1
Android 6.x phone (unrooted)

..what's the best way to do file transfer between the two? Ideally I'd like to be able to mount the filesystem of the phone and be able to read/write contents to a Qubes AppVM.

Thanks in advance,

Alex

Connecting USB devices to Dom0 is discouraged for security reasons.

I use a VM with an attached USB controller and it works without a problem. The only thing I have to do is switch the phone to file transfer mode instead of charging otherwise I get an empty folder as well.

Just out of curiosity, where did you get this simple-mtpfs?
