ErrorHandler: BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)
Major opcode: 10 (X_UnmapWindow)
ResourceID: 0xe00007
Failed serial number: 179
Current serial number: 179

The above error sometimes results when I start a debian 8 appvm (I'm not
currently using fedora appvms so I don't know if the problem exists
there too). My app window will not appear until I run some other command
in the vm (at which point the vm status dot turns green).

I'll determine whether this error can be reproduced.

You're using KDE, aren't you? ;)

In dom0, yes. I do also happen to have kde installed in the template
(completely forgot about that), but I do get this error when starting
gtk apps.

It is related to KDE5 in dom0. I'm not sure details, but it looks like
it destroy windows of other applications instead of asking the
application to destroy its own window. I've observed it for tray icon
windows (yes, those icons are separate windows in terms of X11
protocol), but it may happen for other windows too.
