Hi,
Just starting with Qubes and have 3.0 installed and running. I have some old scripts that rely on my username being the logged in user. I've tried to use qvm-prefs -s to set the user name from the root console, but it doesn't work. What is the correct way to set the user name that AppVMs use be default when they are created?

In short: sorry, not possible. Most of tools (like ssh, irc etc) support
setting default username to something else than logged in user. You can
also try changing $USER and/or $LOGNAME environment variables.

Seems to me like this might be a bad idea, anyway, as you might stick
out from the crowd of Qubes users more in case of limited AppVM
compromise (e.g. FBI CIPAV).
