i used sudo dnf remove etc etc, the template is gone, but i can still see "debain8" etc in the applicationslist.

Hi,

did you check the vm-templates folder? Its under dom0 /var/lib/qubes/vm-templates/

Delete and maybee reboot your system.

I got the same issue with another template. Installing it back (sudo qubes-dom0-install) and uninstalling it again is maybe not an elegant solution, but it did the trick.

Hello,

if it is only about the menu item in the application list, search for
corresponding .desktop files using the find command) and delete them
(or, better, rename them in case you took the wrong ones :)

There is also the command virsh -c xen:/// undefine [AppVM-Name]
that undefines remainders of a by-hand removal. Bernhard

try check for exact filename in this folder and remove it.

sudo rm /etc/xdg/menus/applications-merged/debian-8-vm.menu

thanks, the manuall methode worked fine for debian-8 and a few fedora-24 clones., however, it didnt work on fedora-23.
i even tryed to reinstall fedora-23 an remove it manually, but its still visible.Ich have to say, im getting kinda bored, thats a weird bug.
Any other suggestions?

i'm no expert either. just look in that directory i guess for anything that says fedora-23. I'm not sure why it wouldn't work. what exactly happens it says file not found or something?

Not sure if that is what you mean by application list:

alt+f3
click template
right click and revert on every item of template

does anybody now where the fedora-23 template applications menu entry is stored?
i tought it should be in : ~/.local/share/applications/fedora-23
but it isnt, neither is it in /etc/xdg/menus/applications-merged/

this is very mysterious.

greetings
