So I got the opportunity to buy myself a Lenovo G505S, and did so. It is
the quad-core. It came with Windows 8, so I ran Speccy on it, and can
send details from Speccy if need be.

I'm trying to gather the materials for the coreboot/seabios flash
procedure, and want to reduce the wait times. I especially don't want to
wait three weeks for the 30-pin AWM 20624 cable, which is what I'm being
quoted right now.

Since they are sold in packs of ten or more, I wonder if anyone here has
finihed this project and has a few just sitting around. I would also
take help with gathering any other necessary materials that don't come
more or less off the shelf, if you aren't planning on using them in the
future.

In case it matters, I have the bus pirate, sparkfun #12942. I live on
the east coast of the U.S.

TIA, folks.

Sorry for such a late reply, hope you already know about "Flashing a BIOS chip" article at DangerousPrototypes forums which uses G505S as an example. And another "Flashing KB9012" article is optional and not urgent (since it's not replacing the proprietary KB9012 firmware, just removing the serial numbers from it) so maybe you could wait for this 30-pin cable. I would have happily shared one of my spare cables but I'm concerned about privacy (postal address etc) and the international shipping could cost for me more than simply ordering 10pcs to your address. But your message is pretty old so I hope you got it resolved.
