If anyone is willing to help:

Performed "sudo qubes-dom0-update"

Installation went ok; desktop was running smooth. After restart I noticed that the mouse and dragging windows around was very choppy; was software rendering occuring?

After looking in /var/log/Xorg.0.log; it seems like it is (see line 32.501 ):

If it also helps:

1. i915.preliminary_hw_support=1
2. lsmod | grep "i915" gives me:

i915 1208320 0
i2c_algo_bit 16384 1 i915
drm_kms_helper 126976 1 i915
drm 335872 2 i915,drm_kms_helper
video 40960 1 i915

Switching the kernel back to 4.1.* also does not seem to alleviate the issue. Before updating dom0, the iGPU was working fine? Anyone willing to help me?

Which packages were updated? You can use 'sudo dnf history info <num>'
to find out.
