Hi Dominique.

I cloned my Debian Stretch template last night and gave it a shot:

user@debian-10:~$ screenfetch

I only changed /etc/apt/sources.list to buster repos, using Qubes repos for Stretch.

Qubes QUI agent works. Qubes VCHAN Sink sound interface works. Clipboard works. Copying files between VMs is also OK.

I will keep this experimental Debian Buster Template-VM and will track the developments.

Just to update on this topic.

Last recent update broke Sound for my Debian Testing/Buster template. Even using Qubes stretch-testing repository for template won't solve the issue. Qubes VCHAN sink/source is not available anymore.

Nothing to worry for myself. People who are interested on updating their Debian Template to Buster should consider that they will lose audio for the time.

I was about to warn the same thing. The cause seems to be that debian testing is using pulseaudio 11.

As a temporary fix for my VMs that require sound, I created a debian-9 template following this instructions: https://www.qubes-os.org/doc/template/debian/upgrade-8-to-9/

Also, a fix seems to be on the way for next version of qubes-gui-agent: https://github.com/QubesOS/qubes-gui-agent-linux/commit/2fb0ef05fcfefd204c484c303a2e7e78a4b4d068. Hopefully it will fix this issue.
