Hi!
Qubes 4.'0 is a really amazing piece of software. Even though I feel absolutely safe, I can still do pretty much the same as with an unprotected system.
The only thing I cannot do is screen sharing in Zoom. Screen sharing works fine in MS Teams, but on Zoom the shared sceed turns white, and only the zoom buttons appear. Everithing else is not shown. If I drag a window to the screen, it is not shown. The system resumes its normal behaviour when I stop sharing.
Has anyone had this problem? How can I solve it?

Regards!

That's because it's trying to access the AppVM's 'screen' which AppVMs don't have. Try sharing a specific window

Please have a look to https://github.com/QubesOS/qubes-issues/issues/5789. That could certainly help.

The problem with Zoom is probably that it opens a transparent overlay, likely because of annotations. However, Qubes OS does not support transparency. There is a workaround that hides the overlay:

xdotool selectwindow windowunmap

Neither 'xdotool selectwindow windowunmap' nor ' xprop -f WM_STATE 32c -set WM_STATE 1' worked for zoom in my case.
How can i share a screen/window with zoom?

Thanks

Oh. it works now!
I needed to share first, and then do the xdotool trick...

There is a somewhat lengthy discussion in https://github.com/QubesOS/qubes-issues/issues/5863.

For me, setting
showframewindow=false
in ~/snap/zoom-client/current/.config/zoomus.conf worked.
