I have tried to add intel USB controller to the list of devices in sys-net VM under Devices.

And when I clicked on the settings of the Whonix VM, Qubes OS seems to have cleared the settings of the USB controller so that I now can’t use my USB mouse or keyboard.

I have also tried to restart the pc. But there doesn’t seem to be any connection to the USB mouse and keyboard as they doesn’t light.

How can I get them to work again... ?

How many USB controllers do you have?
If you only have 1, then if you have attached it to sys-net, you cant
attach it at the same time to another running qube.
You *could* edit /etc/qubes-rpc/policy/qubes.InputMouse to add sys-net
to the allowed senders, but be aware of the risks . (Covered in the
docs)

I have PS2 port on the pc.

Will it be possible to connect the keyboard and mouse to them and then just remove the USB controller from the device list in sys-net and restart the pc in order to get the USB ports to function again...?

I have tried to start Qubes OS in recovery mode by using a DVD and with the USB mouse and keyboard.

After pressing 1 for entering in read and write mode, it says: “You don’t have any Linux partitions.”

I wonder how can that be.., ?

I’ll try to reinstall Qubes OS.

Meanwhile I would very much appreciate if you or someone else can tell me how I can connect to the internet by using a USB modem - please answer in my other thread about this.

Just in case others should look here later (although it may be logical): No problem with USB mouse and keyboard after reinstall.
