Changing a VM type

Hello,
What is the best way to change a VM type.
I created a new VM type called QubesBridgeableVm, however I don't know
how to easily change a given AppVM to use this VM type.
- qvm-prefs does not allow to change a VM type
- qvm-create only allow creating VMs with predefined types
- qubesctl qvm.create also apparently allow creating vm with predefined
types.
In the end, I can only edit qubes.xml to change the tmanually.
