Qubes 4, latest updates from testing.

Sometimes (I'd guess perhaps 50% of the times) when I start a VM, the widget doesn't notice that the VM has finished starting, and instead the icon keeps spinning and the associated menu doesn't show the “shutdown” entry.

However, the VM has successfully started and everything works correctly. ‘qvm-ls’ shows the VM as “Running” and all commandline operations works correctly.

On the IRC channel other people mentioned they have the same issue, so it doesn't seem to be a problem that is unique to me.

Is this a known problem with the widget?

btw awokd, are you having the issue too? I.e. does everyone get this bug? It seems many have it (including my self), but I wonder if it's perhaps triggered by something, or if everyone has it.

I've always been able to reproduce too. That's not the only bug, for
example the name in the menu can be totally out of sync with which VM
it actually is reporting about when QIDs get recycled.

This should be at least partially fixed by
https://github.com/QubesOS/qubes-desktop-linux-manager/pull/18.
The issue happens when VM change state while widget's menu is visible.
The above does not fix that completely, but update the state when you
close and open menu again.

I'm not sure this is the same issue. I just started a few VM's (4, to be exact), waited until the windows popped up for all of them, and three of them ended up spinning. Note that I did not click on the “Q” icon until all the windows had opened.

Could this be triggered by multiple VM's being started at the same time?
