Extreme Master Cylinder

Help! First post so be gentle. I recently purchased a Extreme with 1800 Zetec. I'm trying to fit better air filtering or an air box ducted to the front but space is tight. Car has throttle bodies (unknown) which are making the space between the bell mouths and the master cylinder very tight, made worse because the rather large master cylinder ((PLS 03) has 2 connections on the engine side and one further back 45 degrees towards engine side. The copper pipe connections make matters even worse. I assume the pedal box is standard also sierra. Current master cylinder is partially restricting air to pot 3 and 4 bellmouths

I've seen pics of an alternative smaller master cylinder, 2 outlets on the front and one underside. Can anyone help identify that one and where I might get one from.

I will post again requesting help with other suggestions how I might get more clean air to the bell mouths. Thankyou

Welcome to the group and Quantum ownership.

I guess it was you who spoke with Paul our chairman, who then spoke to me.  He shared the photos you sent, which I've attached here as they may help.

The master cylinder appears to be a standard Sierra one, although I guess there must be a few different options as the photos I shared with Paul show Robert's (Grieg) Xtreme that I helped fit OMEX throttle bodies to.  His has a black steel master cylinder and yours a cast alloy one, like mine.

Maybe someone can identify if these 2 types are interchangeable, as that may create the extra space you require?

Hi Karl
A photo of your pedal box with master cylinder attached would be useful. This is to make sure you have the zetec version with master cylinder offset more to the offside. I am also pretty sure my master cylinder is a different pipe arrangement to yours
I will post a photo tomorrow, but note the car has ne engine in currently!!! As Steve rightly mentions there ate a few Sierra variants and it seems pot luck which you have, again I believe they are all interchangeable. I also know mine is a rare breed!!!

Interesting, it is tight, but so are Rob Greig's on the photos Steve shared. You do have the Zetec pedal box. The master cylinder I have would help with the brake pipes to some extent,case two come off vertically and one at an angle on the side. My installation is 2L black top with plenum chamber and turbo.

QS 65, I have a huge build file and Quantum have confirmed all. Although the car was built by the first owner and a guy who restores classic cars, it went back to Quantum for finishing off and IVA. I have the build list from initial kit order, it just says Pedal Box £112 so I'm unsure if it included the Master Cylinder

As an owner of a H4,  ch no. 6, I thought it necessary to join and duly paid my annual subscription, that was in 2019.

Since then I have been completely underwhelmed by the complete and total lack of any communication, in any form or media, from the owners club, nothing, nada.

So, I do question what it does the membership get me? I did get a single email from the club when reminding to renew my membership and when I mentioned I had not had anything about any activities or newsletters, it was promised to get back to me, but I guess I’m just unlucky as again, nothing.
