IBM Spectrum Archive Signel Drive Edition (LTFS) use QUADStor VTL Ext 3.0.73 is error!

I install QUADStor VTL Ext 3.0.73 on CentOS 7.9 x64, Create a IBM TS3100 library and create a IBM 3580 Ultrium5 VDrive and load a VCartridge to VDrive.

 
In Win2016 use iSCSI connect to VTL, and install IBM Tape Drivers 7.0.0.8, and install IBM Spectrum Archive Signel Drive Edition 2.4.5.1 (10503).

When use  IBM Spectrum Archive Signel Drive Edition to format a tape, prompt error: LTFS60201E DRIVE interface call 'Format' returned error([4318] Win32Error=4318).

I use IBM Tape Diagnostic Tool to run 'LTF Readiness Check' , also prompt error:

Its been a while since the newer versions have been tested for LTFS readiness. We will look into this in the next week or so.

Not sure about Quadstor VTL implementation, but in general for LTFS to work with iSCSI, the iSCSI maximum transfer length must be set to at least 1MiB and the maximum burst length set to 4MiB. This requires modifying the registry.

For the Microsoft iSCSI initiator registry value is: 

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E97B-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\{...}\Parameters] 

(DWORD) MaxTransferLenth = 100000 (in hex)

(DWORD) MaxBurstLength = 400000 (in hex)

reboot.

    Thank you very much. IBM Spectrum Archive Signel Drive Edition (LTFS) works fine after adjusting iSCSI parameters according to your suggestion.

    And can I customize QUADStor VTL changer serial? I run IBM Spectrum Archive Library Edition，Prompt:

     1042 LTFS49215I Changer serial is 00L209930977_LL3.

     1042 LTFS49295I INQUIRY (0x12) returns -20501.
     1042 LTFS40208I Command='INQUIRY' , Message='Invalid Field in CDB’ (-20501， 00L209930977_LL3).

     1042 LTFS49216I Cannot validate hardware license (-29591).

Hi,

Library edition will not work. Just changing the serial number will not help. Only the standalone edition will work.
