Trying to remove a 4TB drive from a three-drive 12TB storage pool, with 654GB used, fails with this error msg:
/quadstorvtl/bin/bdconfig -xd /dev/mapper/vgData3-vtlData3
Unable to delete disk. Message from server is: Cannot delete disk which has active data usize 4398042316800 reserved 55223234560 free 4320682779648

Same if tried from the GUI.
QUADStor VTL version is 3.0.64

Please advise.

Hi,

You wouldn't be able to remove a disk once its added to a pool if any tape data exists on that disk.

You can try migrating the data from the disk to the other disk(s) in the same pool https://www.quadstor.com/vtlsupport/disk-migration.html Since it looks likely only a few hundred GB needs to be migrated this should complete very fast.

But remember to upgrade to the latest version before the migration https://www.quadstor.com/vtl-extended-edition-downloads.html

After the migration for the storage pool select "Enable Verify" (Storage Pools -> View for the pool and select 'Enable Verify' in the next page)
