Direct play Cronus Zen not working PS5

Hi Fred and Everyone 

I am unable to upload this new way to use Cronus Zen on Ps5. It says “If in emulator mode the option Auto is not working please select your console from the dropdown. In mirror mode this has no effect. Please check the manual’ Everything is as exactly as you want it on Device screen but this message doesn’t disappear. The funny thing is just to see if another console option works i tried em. Still the message there. Do you know what is the problem?

That is four months old.  There may be more up to date info on the Zen forum.

I have not been staying up to date on the Zen with the PS5.

Thanks so much Jeremy. I’m so glad it works. As I tried to do this but got this message in the quadstick manager,

“If in emulator mode the option Auto is not working please select your console from the dropdown. In mirror mode this has no effect. Please check the manual’

I’m thinking it must be my cousins laptop that has the problem not this process.

I've been playing around with it this today and got it working, too.  I followed the video and the instructions in the Zen manual for PS5:  https://guide.cronus.support/playstation5

A few observations:

• The DS controller needs to be fully charged.  The Zen cannot pass enough power to charge the DS and run the Quadstick, particularly the start up of the QS.
  
• You can't leave everything connected and just power up the PS5 once you have it working the first time.  
• You have to disconnect everything, plug the DS controller into the PS5, then turn it off in the accessories menu as shown in the video.
• Plug the DS (which should be currently off) into the Zen's A1 side port, then plug the Zen into the PS5.  Wait for a few seconds.  The DS should be working.  If not, start over.
  
• Plug the QS into one of the Zen's front ports.   Once it finishes booting up, it should have control.
• If the QS has trouble booting up and resets a few seconds after starting, adding additional power to the Zen via the PROG port on the side can make the QS boot up more reliably.   Power to the PROG port cannot be connected until after the DS is working.  If the Zen is powered via the PROG port when it first connects to the PS5, it will not connect properly.
  
• Alternatively, powering the QS via the USB-B port and connecting via the USB-A port with an A-to-A cable to the Zen, will also make the start up more reliable since the Zen is not supplying power to the Quadstick.
  
• If it didn't work, start over with disconnecting everything, plugging the DS into the PS5, pressing PS to wake it up, and going into the accessories menu again turning it off.  Rinse, repeat.  It is a complete PITA, especially for Quadstick users.  Complain to Sony.

Thanks so much for this! I really believe it’s the laptop that I’m  using has  the problem. As I posted to Jeremy this message, which appears on the Quadstick manger,

The words mirror or dropdown do not appear in the Quadstick Manager Program source code.   Are you talking about the Zen Studio program?
