How can I connect directly to my Xbox and pc at the same time?

The USB-A port can be operated in reverse as a "device" port instead of a host port and provide a way to have a second wired connection to another host.

You would connect the USB-A port through an A-to-A cable to a Brook Wingman XB3 or Mayflash Magic X to the console.

Use the enable_usb_a_device preference setting in the XBox configuration files for the console to switch from the normal USB-B connection to the USB-A connection.

Will I have to make different game files for this to work? Or do I have to change the default mouse? To work with the computer and switch between the Xbox controller.

Leave the default for the mouse alone.  Just add the Preferences sheet with the enable_usb_a_device preference setting to the configuration files you want to use with the console.

Keep the default for the PC.

When you select a configuration file that uses the USB-A  port as a device, the Quadstick disconnects from the USB-B port and then connects to the USB-A port.

What is the indication that the Quadstick is disconnecting and reconnecting?

What are the lights doing?

What is the timing of the connection cycle?

What kind of USB adapter are you using?

If it is a Brook Wingman XB3, what are its lights doing?

How long is the USB-A-to-A cable?  It should be as short as practical.

Are the PC and the XBox console operating from the same power source?  

A ground-loop problem could exist if they are supplied from different AC circuits.

Is it possible the PC is powering down the USB socket when the Quadstick disconnects from it?  

Try setting the power settings to maximum performance on the PC or search around and disable any USB power saving settings.

Power the Quadstick from another USB source, like a phone charger, or powered USB hub, to see if it behaves differently.

The lights are just flashing. Like it's rebooting. But not fully rebooting. Sometimes it freezes the mouse on the PC. But it doesn't switch the. Profile. It just lags and I can't move the mouse or press any buttons till it's done flashing. I have the mayflash magic X The cable is only six feet long No, it's not using the same power source on my PC and Xbox.

Did you turn off the USB-A host mode setting prior to using the device mode?  That could cause a CPU reset, if that is what's happening.

That is turned on by default, since most of the time USB-A is used as a "host", and needs to be turned off before using the "device" mode.  

Check that.  What you describe could be due to that setting still being on.

Yes, it does not affect the USB-B to PC connection.

In order to use USB-A as a "device", the host mode software must be disabled from power up.  You can switch the device mode connection between USB-B and USB-A as often as you like, but only if USB-A has not ever been operating in "host" mode since the last hardware reset.

This is spelled out in the manual.
