PS Remote Play Not Working

After PS remote play had done its most recent update my controller no longer works on the PS5 via PS remote play on PC.

Is anyone else having this problem?

Is there a fix for this?

Always decline the update, exit the program and re-run the Xeropresence updater.

It has been so long since there was an update, it is easy to forget to decline it.  I know I would have forgotten and happily updated PSRP.  

If the PSRP update has already been installed, uninstall the PS Remote Play program using Add-Remove programs in Windows, install version 5.5 from the link in the instructions and run the Xeropresence updater before launching PSRP.   I just tested the freshly patched PSRP 5.5 and it worked with my PS5.

Installing an earlier version of PSRP:

• Uninstall version 6 of PS Remote Play.
• Download and install the previous release that worked with QMP 4+:  PS Remote Play version 5.5.0.08250.  When first running it, do not follow the prompts to update to a newer version.
• If you do not want the continually reenter the PS remote play PIN codes, with PSRP closed, download the latest release, un-zip, and run the Remote Play version patcher:  Xeropresence patcher
• If in the future, PSRP requests you to download a new version of PSRP, re-run the patcher and it will update the version number of the installed PSRP.

Fred I had the same issue with my rp and i uninstalled but now when I'm trying to install rp version 5.5 I'm getting a x message saying.. (This installation package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid windows installer Package)

Looks like Sony pulled the 5.5 version installer from their site.  The Softronic site was downloading the installer from Sony.  Hopefully someone will still have a copy of the actual MSI file.

That is the actual installer, but I can't find it anywhere.   Just a few references to it. 

See if you set a "restore point" on Windows prior to installing the update.  You may be able to roll it back.

Your other options are Chiaki for remote play or the CronusMax Zen now fully supports the PS5.

Is there a post on how Chiaki works and I'm guessing it works with remote play v 6.0

Chiaki is an open source alternative to PSRP.  See the user manual page for the PS5.

Chiaki is still working.  I just tested it on my machine.

I found a post on Reddit that links to an installer for PS Remote Play 4.1.

I downloaded the 7ZIP file, extracted the MSI file using 7Zip, and ran it.  It installed PS Remote Play 4.1.  I then patched it and it works with QMP 4+ again.

That 5.5 version will not install.  The EXE is a loader that attempts to download the MSI file from Sony.  They no longer host the MSI file so you get an error.

4.1 works but appears to not be able to wake up a sleeping PS5.  The PS5 must be on and awake prior to connecting with PSRP 4.1
