Hi

I have a new Quadstick, which I'm using on an XBox360

Mostly it works fine, but the communication ‘disconnects’ or ‘freezes’ fairly often, at least once per session

I have a CronusMaxPlus

I have a genuine XBox360 wired controller

I'm using a USB hub (I couldn’t get it to work without one)

I’ve tried a few hubs, including one I purchased that is supposedly ‘certified’ for the CronusMaxPlus

The new hub seems slightly better, but the issue still occurs

Any suggestions appreciated

Cheers

David

If you can't get it working smoothly, the Brook Wingman XB2 is supposed to work with the XBox360:  https://www.brookaccessory.com/products/wingmanxb2/index.html

Cronus unfortunately dropped support for the CronusMax Plus.  They even removed the documentation for it, but the manual s still available on the Internet Archive:  https://web.archive.org/web/20191127182243/https://cronusmax.com/manual/

Hi

My Brook Wingman XB2 arrived today, this looks really promising, connection was easy and no issues yet

And it's a simpler setup (no authenticating controller & no hub)

Thanks for the support

Hi Fred, I hope you're well, all is good here

My Quadstick is going really well, the Brook Wingman did the trick

I am playing with external inputs at the moment, and I'd like to connect an different Lip switch

The lip switch wiring seems slightly 'fancy' - there seems to be a 2-pin switch but a 3-pin connector and a resistor

Are you able to supply a simple diagram explaining this, so I can put together an external Lip switch

FYI I will be exhibiting the Quadstick at the upcoming ATSA exhibition here in Melbourne https://expo.atsa.org.au/

I'm configuring the device with a single, interchangeable, filtered mouthpiece, so visitors can try the machine in a simplified and hygienic format

I'll send some pictures from the exhibition

Best Regards

The lip input connector has three conductors, tip (signal), ring (Vcc), and shield (GND).

The original lip sensor was a spring loaded 5-10k pot, with the tip connected to the wiper and the shield (GND) and ring (Vcc) connected to the other two leads.  When the lip sensor was not being pushed, the wiper would be at ground.
To mimic the original sensor with a push button switch, the switch would go between tip and ring, and a resistor between tip and ground.   The resistor is a 2K.  When the switch is open, the tip is pulled to ground.

The LIP jack can also be used as two basic digital inputs, or driven as logic level outputs.

During the power up sequence, the Quadstick checks for the presence of the pull down resistor and assumes the lip sensor is connected if it is found.  If nothing is pulling the tip down at power up, the jack can be used as two digital inputs.

The ring is driven by a general purpose IO pin, not connected directly to the power supply rail, so it can't be used for power.

I look forward to those pictures.

Hi Fred

Thanks for the diagram and info, I now have an off-board 'Lip switch' working

I contemplated using the LIP jack as two basic digital inputs, but I believe the Lip switch is the only way to select different Configuration Files?

Anyway, I'm good for now, thanks for the support

Cheers

David

Configuration files can also be selected with the center sip or puff, not just the lip.

The Singleton does not have a lip sensor so those ways of completing the selection function were added.

Hi Fred

As mentioned previously, I'm exhibiting a Quadstick on my stand at an AT exhibition here in Melbourne later this month

As such, I was wondering how you are going with production, ordering and lead times at the moment?

If anyone is interested in getting one, what sort of lead time should I mention?

FYI my new website can be seen here   https://innovativeat.com.au/

Cheers
