There are a couple of sources for mouse pointer lag, or jerkiness: Something accessing the flash drive on the Quadstick or an Intel driver update services that is known for interfering with mice.
The first thing to try is look for and disable the
Intel DSA Service, if present. For some people that clears up the problem. The second is to either run the Quadstick with the flash drive interface turned off, except when making configuration changes, or find the service that is scanning the flash drive, or dig into the USB settings and find the power savings setting that is trying to turn off the flash drive to save power.
Before making any configuration changes to your Quadstick, make a back up copy your Quadstick's CSV files to a folder on your computer, so you can quickly recover from any problems.
Load that into your quadstick and compare it to the regular Mouse2 and see if the stutter stops. If so, then you can add a Preferences sheet to your custom config spreadsheets to have them run with the flash drive USB interface turned off while playing.

| Preference | Value | Units | Description |
| enable_DS3_emulation | 6 | on/off | Turn off flash drive |
If the DSA service is the culprit, disabling the flash drive will have no affect.
Remember, you need flash drive access to make configuration changes, so do not eliminate the regular Mouse2 config. You still need it.
