Hi, I’m new to QuadStick and I have a QuadStick Singleton. I’m having trouble adding/downloading profiles through QMP.

When I first got it, I plugged the Singleton into my PC by USB, downloaded QuadStick Manager, and tried to add/download a profile to the QuadStick. However, it keeps failing with this error:

Error in csv_files_dropped: AttributeError("'NoneType' object has no attribute 'write_qs_file'")

I’ve attached screenshots showing the error and my QMP settings/log.

QMP also says:

QuadStick flash drive not found.
QuadStick Game Controller interface successfully opened.
QuadStick is in PS4 mode.

The Singleton itself still works as a mouse, so the PC is detecting it, but the “In QuadStick” file list is empty and I can’t seem to write profiles onto it. I also checked File Explorer → This PC, and no QuadStick/removable drive appears.

I looked through the forum and found a similar issue where “flash drive not found” + “controller interface successfully opened” suggested the internal flash/config storage might be corrupted or not being exposed. The suggested reset instructions I found were for the FPS/original models, but I have a Singleton, so I’m not sure what the correct reset method is.

My questions are:

  1. Does this look like the Singleton’s internal flash/config storage is corrupted or disabled?
  2. Is there a specific reset/erase-flash method for the Singleton?
  3. Should I try to erase/reset the configuration flash, reinstall firmware, or do something else first?

I’m very new to this, so step-by-step instructions would really help. Many thanks

Hi Matthew,

The flash drive is disabled by default at power up, but you can quickly enable it and make any changes you want.
  1. Start with a soft sip on the mouthpiece.
  2. After the beep keep holding the sip until you hear a "boing" sound and one of the mode lights is flashing rapidly.
  3. Move the joystick once to the right so the second light is flashing.
  4. Do a regular sip on mouthpiece and the Singleton will disconnect and reconnect with the flash drive enabled.
  5. Start QMP and you should see something like this:

Most Singleton users do not make custom configuration files and having the flash drive exposed can sometimes lead to problems, so it was shipped out disabled.  You can change that if you want by using the File Manager to make the flash enabled Singleton file the power up default by doing this:
  1. Rename default.csv to zdefault.csv
  2. Rename flash.csv to default.csv
  3. Wait for a few seconds and the new default.csv file will automatically load.
  4. You can always load and run the no-flash version by selecting it after power up.

There are other ways to gain flash access regardless of what configuration files are loaded in the Singleton.   One way is plug a switch into the IN jack on the back and hold the switch closed, power up the Singleton and hold the switch closed until the lights stop changing.  The Singleton will not be usable as a mouse but the flash drive will be exposed.

Hi, thanks again for your help earlier — I’ve made good progress since then.

I just had a quick follow-up question about profiles. Right now I have three on my Singleton:

  • default.csv — Singleton No Flash
  • flash.csv — Singleton Flash
  • wasd.csv — the factory Singleton WASD profile

If I want the Singleton to start in the WASD profile every time I plug it in, is the correct approach to rename wasd.csv to default.csv?

And if so, should I first rename the current default.csv (No Flash) to something like noflash.csv so I can still access it later if needed?

Thanks again for all the help — really appreciate it.

Yup, that's it exactly.   Rename the current default.csv to something else, then wasd.csv to default.csv using the File Manager, in that order.

Once the new default.csv shows up in the flash drive, after a few seconds, the Singleton will automatically run it.
