So I odered the adapter and breakout cable a while back and received it yesterday, it worked perfectly fine yesterday, it will not work today and is behaving like the mapped button (left click) is being pressed with or without the switch plugged in.It's like the adapter short-circuited or something when my qs got plugged in today.

I have tried resetting everything and unplugging/replugging everything.

It's also not the switch, it works perfectly fine with other devices.

What does the test configuration show:  Digital Inputs Test using USB socket

image.png

B2 in Input 3 and B3 is input 4.  One of those should change when the button is pressed.

When the adapter is not plugged in, both should be 1.00 and when the adapter is plugged in, but no switches plugged in, they should both be 0.00.

I have had the adapter unplugged for a few hours. I just had it plugged back in to run the test, and now it seems to be working again. I really do not understand what is going on. Could it have built up a charge in it somehow that dissipated after a few hours or something? The only difference earlier today, when it was not working, was that the adapter was plugged in before I plugged the quadstick into my computer, and it powered on. Do I need to keep the adapter unplugged when my quadstick is not plugged in and only plug it in after the quadstick is powered?

The order of plugging in the adapter vs powering up should not matter.

It does not matter to my unit here.

After a few more occurrences of it not working I have figured out the issue… The adapter for whatever reason is not being initialized until I switch to the profile to test it, after which it works fine on any profile...

Is the QS you have with this adapter set up like a gamepad? I imagine if it is you will ever experience this issue as it seems to initialize it and for whatever reason being set up like a mouse and keyboard does not.

It's also the exact same issue with the 1st adapter I had, it works fine if I do the same thing, so I wasted my money buying this replacement.

The USB mode and what outputs buttons or keys are mapped to the digital input, or any input, is not related to the digital input processing in any way.  All the digital inputs are handled as a group at the same time, whether they are used or not.

There are about a dozen people using the USB-A digital input function and no one else has reported an issue like this with it.  Changing the default USB-A Host mode preference setting from on to off is the only "gotcha".  Plugging the adapter in prior to changing that setting and rebooting can cause trouble.

Looking at the default config you are running, the use of the input 3 and/or the left mouse button is inconsistent:

Mode
1USB A testingBnormaldigital_in_3
2Mousemouse_left_buttonnormaldigital_in_3
3Scrollmouse_left_buttonnormaldigital_in_6
4Bluetooth mousemouse_left_buttonnormaldigital_in_5
5speaker remote
6Mouse QSmouse_left_buttonnormaldigital_in_5
7Minecraftmouse_left_buttonnormaldigital_in_3
8Copy of Minecraftmouse_left_buttonnormaldigital_in_6
9FNVmouse_left_buttonnormaldigital_in_6
10Battlefieldmouse_left_buttonnormaldigital_in_3
11Battlefield Vehiclemouse_left_buttonnormaldigital_in_6
12Amoured Coremouse_left_buttonnormaldigital_in_6
13DBDmouse_left_buttonnormaldigital_in_6
14Numbers
15Y-N
16Arrowsmouse_left_buttonnormaldigital_in_6
17IR Codes

It would be easy to lose track of what input is being used between 3, 5 and 6.  If 3 is not appearing to work try 5 or 6, see if a different mode is active.

BTW, 16 modes sheets max is the limit.  I don't know what happens when that limit is exceeded, even if it is IR codes.

I only changed the mouse left button on the profiles I use the most at the moment, but it does not matter what I do it only works after I load the testing profile which is set up as a gamepad, it will not work until I do that.

90% of the time I am using the 2nd profile, I have never had host mode enabled.

I am using it with an ultra light HD switch, but it has absolutely nothing to do with it, I have tried all kinds of different switches, micro light, buddy switch, mini cup. Like I said it only works after the QS has been in gamepad mode. Which I can repeat on-demand because it happens every time the QS reboots.
