Hello Wes,

First of all, thank you for your excellent work on QTH.app. I really appreciate the clean interface and the many useful features you've provided.

I would like to report a behavior I’ve encountered when trying to use a custom map tile server or built in OSM configuration. While everything works as expected when using the official Apple Maps, switching to a different tile server—such as OpenStreetMap, OpenTopoMap, or a custom one—leads to an issue: only a single map tile is loaded, and this tile repeats across the entire view, rather than displaying the correct surrounding tiles.

At first, I suspected that the issue might be related to my local network configuration. Specifically, I initially suspected that my local hardware firewall with integrated IDS/IPS (a Next-Generation Firewall) could be interfering with tile loading. However, after testing the app in a completely different network environment without such a firewall, the problem persisted.

To rule out network-level issues, I also tested loading individual tile URLs directly in a browser. These loaded correctly without any problems, indicating that the tile server is accessible and functioning as expected. Unfortunately, the QTH.app still fails to load multiple tiles properly.

As part of troubleshooting, I also uninstalled and reinstalled the app, but this did not resolve the issue.

To illustrate the problem more clearly, I’ve attached a short video that shows the behavior.

If you need any further details or logs, I’d be happy to provide them. I hope this information helps, and I would greatly appreciate any guidance or a potential fix in a future update, as support for custom maps would be extremely useful for my work.

Yes, someone else brought that to my attention last week. I'm thinking it may be an issue with the map tile caching library I'm using. The odd thing is that if I launch QTH.app from my development environment, it works just fine, but if I launch the version installed from the App Store, it exhibits the issue. (Which is probably why I didn't see it until now). I'm looking into it and I'll get a fix on the app store once I discover what changed.
