Good morning

I have a Mac book pro M3 Max with 128g of memory. I'm scheduling a concert, and I use capture 2005 as a preview, when I'm running the show there starts to be latency between what you hear and what you see (it has also happened to me live without the capture 2005. The show is fired directly, there is no LTC or connections no synchronization with other equipment

I make all the videos according to the instructions they have on the page for the MOV format.

When the show is running, you can see the slightly outdated yellow line.

I use one video track, two audio track (click and instructions) and 150 more light cues.

How to minimize that latency? If you already use the recommendations for video and audio?

Thank you!

Hi JV

To prevent audio and video from drifting apart, do the following:

  1. Make sure your video has an audio track.
  2. Select your Video cue. In the I/O tab of the inspector, assign the audio output to the same audio output that your Audio cues are using. Also, on the right side, set the “Clock” menu to “Follow audio clock.”
  3. If you don’t want to hear the audio track of your video, go to the Levels tab and set the main level to -INF.

Now, as long as your Video and Audio cues are in the same Timeline Group, AND as long as they don’t have pre-waits, they will stay perfectly in sync.

Best
Sam

Thank you, Sam

Yes, I take all that into account.

Sometimes it works well, other times it's getting slow... and it only runs qlab with capture 2005.

I don't understand why sometimes it runs well and sometimes it's late...

Thank you, Sam

Hi JV

It should not be possible for video and audio to slip out of sync if you’ve followed those directions exactly.

Please send your workspace to sup...@figure53.com and we’ll see what’s going on!

It is desynchronized with the capture, not the qlab project.

I’m sorry, I do not know what you mean by “the capture.”

When you say capture, do you mean the Capture lighting visualiser? (https://www.capture.se/Products/Capture/Visualisation)?
Presumably that is receiving lighting data from QLab via ArtNet? There could be a multitude of reasons why network sync to a visualiser might go out of sync and it's not really a QLab problem.  It is not clear what the screen shots of the audio waveforms on your post refer to? Also not sure why you running a visualiser when running the show - better to check what is actually on stage.
