Hello all,

I'm wondering if anyone has had success sending simple commands (ie channel strip mute/unmute) from Qlab to the Behringer XR18 over network/OSC? Admittedly I am utterly inexperienced programming anything OSC related (much more familiar sending MIDI commands to the X32 via "Snippets"), so it's possible I just plain don't know how to set up the network routing. Deep-diving in this forum and others has yielded little info other than this apparent list of commands the XR18 likes:

Can anyone point me in the right direction? My goal is to ease the load of our operator who also has to run lights--ideally I can automate mic channel mute cues within the QLab stack so that they can just spacebar thru the show without having to deal too much with the XAir interface.

Thanks for any ingenious help y'all can provide!

Evan

have a look at this posting:

Make sure your XR18 is set to a static IP address.

All the best

It’s a lot of info.  If you need help with simple cues, I can walk you through it.

I have an X32 and operate it with QLab at my theatre in almost every show.  I haven’t figured out how to ’slow’ fader movement, but setting fader position, and mute status etc is all done by activating cues and snippets etc.
I’m not sure if you can do cues and snippets with the xAir18, but I’m pretty sure it’ll take OSC commands.

Let us know how it goes!

Hi
I've never used OSC for controlling a mixer, nor do I use an xAir18.
I HAVE used MIDI for controlling Allen & Heath desks though, so I thought I'd chime in about the 'slow' fader movement. The challenge seems similar in this situation.
For one show I did, programmed slow fader movements were necessary, but these were obviously not included in the MIDI programming language of the desk.
The best solution I found then is to use a 'level up' / 'level down' command which WAS included in the dictionary. This moves a fader 1dB up or down, no matter what its position is.
When using this command, one could program several instances of this command with a slight interval, to result in a stepped slow fade. Depending on the situation, the steps might not be noticed when in context.
I hope you'll find something similar! (Or maybe slow fader movements ARE included in the X series dictionary, but that I don't know.)
Good luck!
Simon

Poi: Control Change-Channel 2-Control Number 0-Control Value 127 -Oppure 0 (on 127 off 0)
Control Number 0 è il Primo Canale
Control Number 1 è Il Secondo Canale Ecc.
Control Number 15 è il Canale 16.
-------------------------------------------------
Prova questi semplici comandi per iniziare.
