Small gab between video and photo after Autofollow

Hi fellow Qlabbers,,

I have made a cue list with several instances of the combination a photo, a video and a photo. The first cue is the first photo frame from the video (jpg), while the last cue is a photo with the last frame from the video. The idea is to make the still photo morph into a video, and then freeze again.

Autofollow is enabled on the video.

Problem is that when the video is finished and it is time for the photo cue, there is a small, irritating gab. Autoload is activated for every cue. What can I do, except making a fade for each transition (which is much more work)?

Sincerely, Øystein

I would set the photo to be a layer (or several) below the video, and not ever stop the photo.  That way when the video stops you don’t have to wait for an auto follow, your still photo is still there.  If you need to swap it out to a different one, then stop the first and start the second on the same lower layer while the video is playing above.

Last frame is easy, tick the hold on end check box

First frame, set the still and the video to bottom layer, and set fade peers in the trigger tab of the video, with a time of 0.1s.

This also gets round the fact that it is likely your jpg still and your video have discrepancies in color balance.

That was it! Thank you! I never saw that tick box before…

First frame is not a problem, that is silky smooth.

Sincerely, Øystein

Hi

I’ve also had good results by putting the video and a pause cue targeting it in a timeline group to start together, so the video comes in “paused” on its first frame.

Then a “start” cue can play the video later without having to swap out for a still image.

Best
Tim
