Just saw this new Roland V-1HD mixer.
Wouldn't it be cool if qlab could control this mixer!

Unless it has 88 keys, I would run fast from anything with a Roland logo in the AV realm

I'll add to that the Roland Quad Capture and Octa Capture, which are
among the very few inexpensive audio interfaces with good track records.

Best

Those knocking Roland's video products have not used them.  I used their first VJ mixer the V-4 endlessly, then the V-8, now the VR-50HD, and have already ordered 5 of the V-1HD's for friends and for my rental inventory.

We have 3 of the VR-50HD's and love them.  They manage Audio and Video over HDMI or HDSDI or Analog, create a USB 3.0 HD streaming output, manage HDCP, and every in or output has pixel accurate scaling, shift, color space settings, plus Proc Amp, and then there are a few Pip's... Logo store..  Never mind the multi view...  It puts the Sony or Panasonic  4 input SDI switchers to shame.  Ditto for Analog way in the same price point.

And they always have some Midi control in there....

I tested a prototype of the V-1 and it is a solid build, heavy enough to not slide around, super portable, and simple to use.  There is no other product that handles 4 HDMI inputs with 2 outputs like that... never mind it also has PiP and audio and midi via web interface or a smart device App.

Every Tried the TVOne 1T-C2-750? - 2 DVI in, one out... terrible onscreen GUI... terrible manual, hard to setup, and fails or glitches all the time....

We have 2, both had to have the main board replaced within 2 years...

I agree with same and would add the Edirol midi interfaces to the list... both have been incredibly reliable for me in a number of circumstances where cost was a factor.

I disagree - I have a VR-50HD which I bought in spite of concerns about Roland video gear (but it was the only thing close to my budget that met my needs).  I'm very happy with it.  It CAN be annoying - Roland uses a lot of non standard terminology, and often settings are in places I wouldn't expect them to be - but it works really well.

Sam - would you prefer the Roland interfaces over the Focusrite Scarlet series?

Personally i would not, but that is mostly due to UI/UX decisions made
by Roland. I don't love either Focusrite's or Roland's software, but I
prefer Focusrite's.

If a decision were being made between the two, I would base it on I/O
requirements and physical characteristics. Like, the Saffire Pro 40 is
awesome, but kind of heavy.
