Hey All,

I'm completely new to this part of QLab and need a hand. Could someone take me through the steps of getting qlab to control an ATEM Black Magic TV Studio using OSC. I've found this program (https://danielbuechele.squarespace.com/blog/2013/2/5/atemosc-a-osc-bridge-to-control-atem-switchers) which I think is the right path.

Also as long as I can control the switcher via QLab I am not tied to using OSC. If there is another method that is easier I'm all ears.

Cheers,
David

Hi David,

I went down the same road last year - using midi devices to control an atem. I could not get Daniels software to work with what was the latest ATEM version. I don't know if he has updated the software, but we did email back and forth and found that was the problem.

There is also Justmacros, which has midi support which QLab can handle fine. I have used JM (not with QLab though), it's pretty advanced because of the programming capabilities

Hello,

I use that software (atemOSC) regularly to control my 2 M/E 4K - running the latest version of the ATEM software (6.5.1).  Some features work fine, others are missing.  Though for the most part I have it working.  Would be great to have it updated for the latest software and hardware though.  What are you trying to accomplish?  I’m happy to show what I’ve done to get it to work.

Hello Alexander,

I am trying to get atemOSC and Qlab to work together on the same computer, and was wondering what your setup was to get it to work.

Thanks,
Scott Erickson

Hello,

I have atemOSC open and connected to the correct IP for the ATEM (note the ATEM can only support 10 simultaneous connections).  I have QLab set up with an OSC patch to localhost with the correct port (as specified in atemOSC).  If you click on the Help menu in atemOSC, it will list all OSC commands available for your particular model.  For instance, this Custom OSC message will set aux 6 to input 1: /atem/aux/6 1

I don't have that rack on line at the moment, I can spin it up and get more info tomorrow if that doesn't help.
