Hi All,

I'm having some strange issues and am a little stumped, figured I'd ask the hive mind! So here's what's happening. I'm running projections on an iMac running the most up to date version of Qlab 3. A guy from my marketing department is creating projections media for our show and the most recent batch of images he gave mebaren't displaying properly in Qlab. Most of the images are media on top of a white background. He's given them to me in both JPEG format as well as PNG and when I open them in the Apple Preview they're fine. I see the preview properly in the geometry tab but when I fire the cue all that comes up is a white screen. I feel like this is an issue with the media but I'm not sure. Previous images he's created have worked. Any advice or thoughts appreciated.

Thanks,

Joe

Hi Joe.

It sounds like the pixel dimensions of your JPG and PNG images are too large for the GPU to handle. Try pre-scaling the images to their final display resolution, and the issue should go away. In the end, pre-scaling reduces the workload at the moment of playback, and is generally a good strategy. But if this happens with cues without dramatically large images, the issue may be an insufficient GPU, and you might need to use a different Mac to get the job done.

Ah, that makes sense. That solved it. The file size was fairly small so I totally missed that. Thanks for the help!
