Workflow tips when working with a timeline

I wonder if any of you have tips when working with a timeline (group cue -> start all children simultaneously).

I want to have certain light-changes on a timeline and I want to have them cascading meaning each light-change will only have data for the changing lights (not ALL lights).

The trouble comes when I want to look at a specific light-scene in the middle of my 30 min timeline. I want to be able to look at a specific time and have all the cascading changes included. Or maybe a way to step through the cues in the group ignoring the timeline.

Any tips? How is your workflow in similar situations?

Load the group to time and this is exactly what will happen (screen recording attached)

My top tip for working out how many of the features of QLab lighting work is to create very simple test workspaces like this one with just a few instruments and try things out.
