Is it possible to specify a different app to edit audio files than the OS default to open those files?

eg: MacOS is set to open .aiff with Logic, and I want to use Twisted wave as the external editor for QLab?

Thanks,
Craigk

It should be a simple matter: select an .aiff file in the Finder; control click; choose "show info", scroll down to "open with", choose the Twisted app, and select "change all".

Yes, that will change it for everything, I want to have a specific editor when I hit "open with external editor" that is different from what is used in finder to open audio files.

Fundamentally, I'm just looking for a preference in QLab to specify what app to use for "open with external editor"= I suspect this is more of a feature request.

I don’t remember seeing “open in external editor” in QLab. Is that a version 5 thing?

No, V4 &5 (maybe 3??)
If you right click on the waveform in Time & Loops tab

It’s easy enough to script opening a file in a specific application – Mic did it here: https://groups.google.com/g/qlab/c/Bn3Pn0XKIr8/m/jYVXG9i_FQAJ.

Thanks,

I had forgotten about that, I actually responded in that thread way back then!
