Dear all,

I wanted to ask if anyone has mapped the evolution of the Indian railways over time. If so, could you share any resources? Are there examples of rail networks from other countries that one could look at?

I am interested in developing a teaching exercise for my class (social science undergraduates) around the Indian rail network, hence the question.

Many thanks for your help!

Dear all,

Does anyone have any knowledge of this? Or any advice to offer?

Thanks,
Khushdeep

The current railway network data is available at  https://indianopenmaps.com/vectors?search=railways Historic data may be hard, but your best bet will be the DataMeet mailing list. https://datameet.org/discussions/. I already see a bunch of threads and discussions on data for Indian Railways. You can ask the DataMeet community for guidance.
