Hi QGIS India User group,
I am Sai Krishna. I am interested in making use of Qfield app for my field work.

I have prepared a QGIS project file with vectors and sentinel2 geotif.  The Qsync plugin created a new folder in my laptop as "C:\Users\Lenovo\QField\export\FieldPlan" with contents of  .qgs project file along with .gpkg format vectors and .tif image. I uplooaded the same to google drive and trying to copy the respective files in my android phone with qfield app. But I am stuck in the process of placing the files in the correct folder directory.
I trield taking help of chatgpt and gemini, but need more streamlined guidance.
Could someone help me with the process.

Thanks in advance

Hi Sai - please try with the step-by-step tutorial at https://in.qgis.org/tutorials/qfield-offline-data-collection/ where the process is explained clearly. I have also cc'ed @SUDARSHAN BHOYAR who is an expert and can guide further if needed.

Thanks @Sudarshan and @Khushbu and @Ujaval

The issue is resolved after following the tutorials and some tweaking while resolving issues using Gemini.
Yes @Sudarshan, the file organising makes the package clean.
Yes @Ujaval Gandhi , @Sudarshan and @khushbu b  ,  the tutorial and youtube videos give the basic steps for understanding the process and file organising makes the package clean.

While there were some process related dilemma and errors to resolve while making the qfield package. Following are the learning based on the trials I made with further support from Gemini :
1. Creating the folder structure such that basemap and datasets have separate folders for given project. And for creating the qfield project folder, one needs to create and export to separate folder in user defined directory which is different from qgis project folder.
2. Tiling the basemap and then removing the basemap and then adding the .mb files before packaging. Further, choosing optimal tiling parameters by choosing appropriate extents and zoom levels and dpi, in order to reduce the processing time and file size.
3. Choosing correct qfield properties for the vector data, so that the photos can be captured or uploaded.

Regards
Sai Krishna
